VACANCY: GUITAR TEACHER VACANCY (MATERNITY COVER)

STARTING DATE: JUNE 2026 (or as soon as possible thereafter)

 

Are you passionate about music education and excited by the opportunity to help young students engage in music? We’re looking for an inspiring and skilled Guitar Teacher to join our vibrant team and bring guitars to life through engaging lessons that spark curiosity and confidence.

For this role, you will need to be proficient in guitar and be able to commit to 21.5 hours a week of dedicated one-to-one, small-group and after-school groups and be capable of teaching classical, ukulele, acoustic and beginner electric guitar in a variety of Kirklees school settings, predominantly in the Shelley area, throughout the length of the cover period.

A job share would be considered for this vacancy.

This position will be hourly paid at £29.12 per contact hour, plus pension contributions.

You will require an Enhanced DBS and be able to travel between schools each working day.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Planning and delivering high-quality guitar/ukulele lessons to students of all ages and skill levels.
• Inspire students to develop a love for music and a lifelong passion for playing guitar/ukulele.
• Preparing students for performances, competitions, and exams.
• Following administrative and reporting procedures.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

• Proven experience teaching guitar/ukulele to students of varying abilities.
• Proficiency in music theory and guitar/ukulele skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Enthusiasm for working with children and adults.
• Flexibility to travel to different schools within Kirklees.
