One-to-one and small group lessons (school paid)

Schools/colleges in Kirklees can apply for one-to-one/small group tuition on behalf of their pupils. 

Invoices and all communication about the lessons get sent directly to your preferred school contact. 

There are many ways in which pupils can benefit from these lessons and all applications from schools/colleges are welcome.  

Why choose one-to-one/small group lessons

Schools/colleges can apply for any of their pupils to receive these lessons.  Here are some reasons you might consider applying:

  • Children Looked After (CLA) with the Kirklees Virtual School are entitled to funded tuition.  Schools/colleges should be able to relcaim the full cost of lessons from the Kirklees Virtual School.  For other CLA, please check with the council overseeing their care plan for eligibility.
  • It may be suitable for some pupils to have lessons funded by Pupil Premium
  • One-to-one/small group lessons are particularly beneficial for pupils working towards qualifications such as GCSE and A-Level music
  • Lessons are tailored to the individual musical interests of pupils to enable those with a developing passion for music to flourish
  • Sessions can also take the form of Nurture Tuition to allow pupils with additional emotional or educational needs to building confidence in a focussed and supportive environment

What you and your pupil(s) receive

All communication and invoicing will be done directly with your school/college, ensuring you are kept informed of each pupil's progress at all times.

Pupils can choose from:

  • Woodwind - bassoon, clarinet, flute, oboe, recorder, saxophone
  • Brass - baritone, cornet, euphonium, French horn, tenor horn, trombone, trumpet, tuba
  • Strings - violin, viola, cello, double bass
  • Guitars - acoustic guitar, bass guitar, classical guitar, ukulele
  • Percussion
  • Keyboard
  • Voice
Musica Kirklees can loan instruments to schools/colleges for your pupils to use at lessons and for home practice (subject to availability.  One-off loan fee payable 2025-26.  Terms and conditions apply.  More information >)

Price List

Choose the lesson package to suit your needs.  Prices are per pupil per term (2025-26).

Option A: £99.00

one-to-one 10 minute lessons or 2 pupils sharing for 20 minutes / 3 for 30 minutes

Option B: £148.52

one-to-one 15 minute lessons or 2 pupils sharing for 30 minutes

Option C: £198.00

one-to-one 20 minute lessons

Option D: £297.00

one-to-one 30 minute lessons
